Amaravati, Mar 11 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday reviewed LPG stocks and supply in the state during the ongoing district collectors’ conference, amid concerns over the impact of the Iran war.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that ‘there is no shortage of LPG in the state at present’, with adequate stocks available.
Civil Supplies Secretary Saurabh Gaur briefed the meeting on the current stock position and supply arrangements.
Naidu directed officials to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply to schools and hospitals, maintain strict vigilance to prevent black marketing of cylinders, and coordinate with the Centre to avoid any disruptions.
A ministerial committee comprising Nadendla Manohar, K. Atchannaidu, and Payyavula Keshav will monitor LPG availability and market conditions of horticulture products.
Officials said the state has 1.61 crore domestic LPG connections and about 10 lakh commercial connections, with a daily demand of around 4,000 metric tonnes.
Current LPG stocks with companies such as Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum stand at 21,505 metric tonnes, officials said.
