Amaravati, Mar 29 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP President N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday greeted members of the Telugu Desam Party on its 44th foundation day, reaffirming the party’s commitment to welfare and development.
In a message, Naidu said the party, founded by N. T. Rama Rao on March 29, 1982, represents the aspirations of Telugu people and continues to uphold his ideology of ensuring basic needs such as food, shelter and clothing for the poor.
Describing TDP as a “party of workers,” he said the foundation day was a celebration for cadres and extended greetings to members across the state.
He said the party was established to uphold the self-respect and progress of Telugu people and has consistently worked for the welfare of weaker sections, inspired by NTR’s philosophy that “society is the temple and people are the gods”.
Naidu noted that TDP played a pioneering role in welfare-oriented governance and contributed to the social and political empowerment of marginalised communities.
Meanwhile, Nara Lokesh participated in foundation day celebrations and highlighted the party’s journey through a commemorative programme showcasing key milestones, including welfare initiatives and organisational growth.
The programme also referred to issues faced by various sections and criticised the YSR Congress Party government during 2019–2024.
Party leaders said the occasion reflected TDP’s legacy and its continued focus on public welfare and development.
