Hyderabad, Mar 31 (TNT): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Tuesday said that the Musi River rejuvenation project will be implemented in a democratic manner, with active public participation.
Chairing a review meeting at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat along with Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the Musi rejuvenation works.
He announced that public opinions will be invited online from March 31 to April 15 via email, and all suggestions received will be carefully examined in consultation with officials.
Members of the Musi Cabinet Sub-committee will also hold phased, direct interactions with individuals providing valuable inputs.
Bhatti said the project will be taken forward with transparency and inclusivity, ensuring that stakeholders are heard at every stage.
The Deputy Chief Minister also informed that the foundation stone for the Omkareshwara Temple on the banks of the Musi River was laid on March 28.
He directed officials to prepare a comprehensive roadmap covering Phase-1 and Phase-2 of the project from that date.
He instructed officials to streamline responsibilities and ensure coordination on key aspects, including defence land issues, consultations with displaced families, finalisation of designs, and engagement with financial institutions.
Emphasising the importance of the project, he said it reflects the commitment of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the state Cabinet, and would stand as a milestone in the careers of those involved.
He assured that members of the Musi Sub-committee would remain available round-the-clock to support officials in executing the project effectively.
Senior officials, including Special Chief Secretary Ranjan, Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Managing Director E.V. Narasimha Reddy, Joint Managing Director Gauthami, GHMC Commissioner Karnan, and district collectors, attended the meeting.
