MS Dhoni Named Brand Ambassador for BHIM Payments App

Mumbai, Mar 17 (TNT): NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL) on Tuesday announced the appointment of former India cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the brand ambassador for the BHIM Payments App.

The company said the partnership marks a strategic step in its next phase of growth focused on scale, inclusion and strengthening long-term user confidence.

BHIM, built on the infrastructure of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has played a key role in India’s digital payments ecosystem and is nearing a decade of operations.

Commenting on the development, Lalitha Nataraj, MD and CEO of NBSL, said the association aims to position BHIM as a preferred digital payments platform for households across the country, with trust at the core of its growth strategy.

Dhoni said the app’s focus on simplicity and accessibility aligns with the need to make digital payments easy and reliable for users across India, especially as adoption continues to expand.

Following its repositioning as “Bharat Ka Apna Payments App”, BHIM has expanded its presence across Tier 1, 2 and 3 cities, with a focus on accessibility, regional language support and ease of use. The app supports over 15 regional languages and is optimised for low-connectivity environments to drive adoption in rural and semi-urban areas.

The platform is also leveraging reward-led initiatives and merchant partnerships to expand its user base and engagement.
