New Delhi, Mar 22 (TNT): The Ministry of Mines will organise the National District Mineral Foundation (DMF) Summit 2026 at the SCOPE Convention Centre here on March 23-24, with a focus on improving utilisation of DMF funds in mining-affected areas.
The summit, themed “Effective Utilization of District Mineral Funds for ADP/ABP Areas,” will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy in the presence of Minister of State Satish Chandra Dubey and Secretary, Ministry of Mines, Piyush Goyal.
The two-day event aims to strengthen inter-governmental coordination and identify policy reforms for effective and outcome-oriented utilisation of DMF funds, particularly in Aspirational District Programme (ADP) and Aspirational Block Programme (ABP) areas.
Senior officials from central ministries, state governments, district administrations, NITI Aayog and other stakeholders will deliberate on challenges, best practices and reform measures related to DMF planning, implementation and monitoring.
The summit follows a consultative exercise led by the Ministry, involving inputs from DMF states, 306 districts in ADP/ABP areas and NITI Aayog. A comprehensive note based on these inputs will guide the deliberations.
Discussions will focus on governance, transparency, convergence, impact assessment and performance, with presentations by state representatives, NITI Aayog and BiSAG-N, followed by interactive sessions.
A DMF exhibition will also be organised on the sidelines, showcasing successful projects and best practices across sectors such as health, nutrition, water supply, education, skill development, livelihoods, renewable energy and infrastructure.
The summit is expected to build consensus on reform priorities, enhance convergence with national programmes and strengthen the utilisation of DMF funds for inclusive and sustainable development in mining-affected regions.
