Hyderabad, Apr 12 (TNT) : The Ministry of Mines is organising a roadshow on the ‘7th Tranche of Auction of Critical and Strategic Mineral Blocks’ and the ‘2nd Tranche of Exploration Licence (EL) Blocks’ at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) here on Monday.
Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, will grace the event along with senior officials from the Ministry of Mines, representatives of State governments, industry stakeholders and prospective bidders, according to an official release.
The 7th tranche comprises ‘19 critical and strategic mineral blocks’, including key minerals such as tungsten, lithium, tin and rock phosphate, which are vital for sectors like clean energy, advanced technologies and fertilisers.
With six tranches already completed, 46 critical mineral blocks have been successfully auctioned so far, reflecting the government’s sustained push to strengthen mineral security and reduce import dependence.
The event will also showcase the ‘2nd tranche of Exploration Licence (EL) blocks, aimed at boosting private sector participation in mineral exploration, particularly for deep-seated and critical minerals.
The Exploration Licence regime provides a structured framework for reconnaissance and prospecting, thereby strengthening the country’s exploration ecosystem.
The roadshow will feature detailed presentations on mineral potential, auction frameworks and recent policy reforms.
An interactive session with stakeholders will also be held to address queries and encourage wider participation.
The initiative aligns with the government’s broader vision of building a robust and self-reliant mineral sector, supporting the clean energy transition and advancing the goals of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
