Maruti Suzuki Delivers 108 e VITARA Units in Single Day to customers in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Aprl 11 (TNT): Maruti Suzuki India Ltd on Saturdaymarked a milestone in its electric vehicle journey by delivering 108 units of its e VITARA to customers in a single day at a large-scale handover ceremony held at JRC Convention Centre, Hyderabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Senior Executive Officer (Marketing & Sales) Partho Banerjee said Hyderabad, with an EV penetration of 14.5%, offers a strong market for electric vehicles and plays a key role in the company’s EV strategy.

He said the company is focusing not only on manufacturing electric vehicles but also on building a supporting ecosystem, highlighting the availability of charging infrastructure in the city and across Telangana.

He highlighted the availability of a charging point every 5 kilometres in the city, supported by 256 charging points across Telangana, of which 119 are located in Hyderabad alone.

Looking ahead, he said this infrastructure is only the foundation, with the company planning to introduce four additional EVs by 2031 as part of its commitment to leading India’s electric mobility transition.

The e VITARA offers a driving range of up to 543 km.

Buyers can choose between two battery configurations — a 49 kWh and a 61 kWh pack — both backed by an 8-year or 1,60,000 km battery warranty.

The SUV has also received a 5-star safety rating under Bharat NCAP, reinforcing its positioning as a safe and dependable choice for Indian families, the India’s leading carmaker said in a release here.

The e VITARA, Maruti Suzuki’s first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), is manufactured exclusively at the company’s Hansalpur Manufacturing facility in Gujarat.

Since its flag-off by the Prime Minister at the Hansalpur plant in August 2025, the model has emerged as the highest exported BEV from India in FY 2025-26, with over 25,000 units shipped to 44 countries and exports destined for more than 100 countries across European and other international geographies.

To support widespread EV adoption, Maruti Suzuki has committed to enabling a network of over one lakh public charging points across India by 2030.

The company has already deployed over 2,000 Maruti Suzuki exclusive charging points nationwide and has established a pan-India footprint of EV-ready service workshops staffed by a specially trained workforce of 1.5 lakh personnel.

In Hyderabad, buyers benefit from 21 NEXA workshops that are fully EV-ready, while the state of Telangana is supported by 54 such facilities in all. Customers also have access to 24×7 roadside assistance.

As part of its customer enabler package, Maruti Suzuki is offering one year of free charging worth Rs 20,000 along with a complimentary home charger and installation valued at Rs 50,000 with every e VITARA purchase, the release added.
