Hyderabad, Feb 27 (TNT) : Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., India’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume, has expanded its farm machinery portfolio with the launch of a new heavy-duty Rotavator series in Telangana, targeting the growing mechanisation demand among progressive farmers.
The newly introduced Mahavator and Mahavator HD models, available in the 4 to 9 feet category, feature a redesigned wider mast and reinforced structural build aimed at enhancing durability, operational stability and performance in intensive tillage conditions, the company said in a release here on Friday.
The company said the product upgrade follows detailed market analysis and farmer feedback, aligning with its strategy to deepen presence in the non-tractor farm equipment segment and strengthen revenue streams beyond its core tractor business.
According to Dr. Anusha Kothandaraman, Vice President & Head – International Operations and Business Head – Farm Machinery at Mahindra Farm Equipment Business, the new range has been developed to deliver improved performance while elevating the visual and ownership appeal of farm implements. The rollout will be phased across Mahindra’s extensive dealer network in Telangana.
While the new rotavator line will gradually replace existing models, Mahindra will continue offering its current portfolio to cater to varied farming needs, ensuring a broad product mix.
In a brand-led move, the company has also introduced limited-edition rotavators in tricolour-inspired hues — Metallic Orange, Everest White and Metallic Green — across select variants including Mahavator HD, Supervator and Gyrovator ZLX+.
Mahindra is simultaneously pushing technology integration through its patented ‘Tez-e’ Intelligent Rotavator, which uses Bluetooth connectivity to transmit real-time operational data to a mobile application, supporting precision farming and data-driven decision-making.
Mahindra rotavators are manufactured at dedicated facilities in Nabha, Punjab and Zaheerabad, Telangana, reinforcing its domestic manufacturing base.
Industry analysts note that the launch positions Mahindra to capture incremental growth in the agri-implements market, particularly in states like Telangana where farm mechanisation adoption is accelerating.
