Bengaluru, Mar 8 (TNT): KIMS Hospitals, a division of the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences headquartered in Hyderabad, on Sunday inaugurated two new super-speciality hospitals in Mahadevapura and Electronic City in Bengaluru, marking its entry into the Karnataka healthcare market.
The hospitals were inaugurated by Indian film star N. T. Rama Rao Jr..
The Mahadevapura unit has more than 450 beds, while the Electronic City facility has 350 beds.
Together, the two hospitals house 30 state-of-the-art operation theatres and more than 170 outpatient consultation rooms (OPDs).
In a release, the hospital , both facilities have been strategically located in fast-growing areas of Bengaluru to ensure easier access to advanced healthcare services.
Speaking on the occasion, B. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of KIMS Group of Hospitals, said the expansion reflects the group’s commitment to delivering advanced, patient-centric care.
“Our entry into Bengaluru is a continuation of the clinical excellence and patient-focused values that have defined KIMS Hospitals for over two decades,” he said.
The hospitals feature more than 25 super-speciality centres and Centres of Excellence, including cardiology, neurology, oncology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, ENT, obstetrics and gynaecology, general surgery, internal medicine, and critical care.
Chief Executive Officer B. Abhinay said the expansion aligns with the group’s strategy of strengthening its presence in key healthcare markets such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala and Maharashtra.
Actor N. T. Rama Rao Jr. said the inauguration was a special moment for him, noting that his grandfather, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. T. Rama Rao, had laid the foundation stone for a block at PES University in Bengaluru more than four decades ago.
Managing Director of KIMS Hospitals Bengaluru Nitish Shetty said the new facilities are designed to address the growing healthcare needs of the city and the IT corridor.
He added that three more KIMS hospital units are planned in Bengaluru over the next year, further expanding the group’s healthcare footprint in the region.
