Kavitha Alleges ‘Job Scam’ in Lecturer Recruitment, Warns of Statewide Protests

Hyderabad, Apr 1 (TNT): Telangana Jagruthi President K. Kavitha on Wednesday alleged irregularities in recruitment of degree college lecturers and accused the State government of creating hurdles for unemployed youth through various Government Orders (GOs).
Addressing a press conference here, Kavitha claimed there was a “conspiracy” similar to the Group-1 recruitment process and alleged that GO No. 4 was designed to favour select candidates.
She criticised the policy of awarding 25 marks weightage to PhD holders, questioning its fairness given limited PhD admissions, and demanded immediate withdrawal of the GO.
She also sought cancellation of multiple GOs, including GO No. 104 (DSC recruitment), GO No. 29 (Group examinations), GO No. 46 (police recruitment) and GO No. 81 (Gurukul institutions), alleging that they were creating barriers for job aspirants.
Alleging that both previous and present governments failed to review these policies, she said lakhs of students preparing for competitive exams were being neglected.
She further questioned the government’s priorities, stating that funds were being allocated for projects while issues of unemployed youth remained unaddressed.
The former BRS MLC accused the Congress government of failing to provide clarity on a job calendar and filling of government vacancies, and alleged delays in fee reimbursement, Anganwadi salaries and welfare schemes.
Warning of agitation, she said her organisation would mobilise unemployed youth across the State if corrective steps were not taken.
On ration cards, Kavitha alleged that while the government claimed to have issued new cards, it was planning large-scale cancellations during verification, which would adversely affect poor families.
She also expressed concern over an incident at the Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple, where temporary sheds reportedly collapsed during Hanuman Jayanthi celebrations, injuring several devotees.
She demanded proper medical care for the injured, a thorough inquiry and action against those responsible.
