Kakinada, Feb 12 (TNT): In a humanitarian gesture, two orphaned children—Karanam Satya and Chanti—have been sanctioned a house site following the intervention of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
The children, residents of Madhapur village in Pithapuram constituency, have already been receiving monthly cash assistance of ₹5,000 each from the Deputy Chief Minister.
Acting on his advice, the children met District Collector Shan Mohan at the Collectorate here on Thursday.
The Collector assured them of all-round support for their speedy rehabilitation, including the provision of a permanent residence. On behalf of the district administration, he directed the Pithapuram Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) and Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) to grant a house site patta to the orphaned children.
Later in the evening, the children met Pithapuram MRO Gopalakrishna and MPDO Swapna at the MRO office, where they were formally handed over the house site patta.
Officials also assured them that necessary steps would be taken for the construction of a permanent house on the sanctioned site.
