Hyderabad, Apr 9 (TNT) : ixigo Trains and ConfirmTkt, India’s AI-based train ticketing platforms, on Thursday announced a partner with Swiggy to offer On-train food delivery services, enabling passengers to order meals directly to their seats during train journeys.
Under the partnership, travellers can order fresh and hygienic meals from over 40,000 restaurant partners across 160-plus railway stations in the country, with real-time tracking and berth delivery options.
To avail the service, users can update their ixigo or ConfirmTkt apps, select the ‘Order Food on Train’ option, enter their PNR number, choose the delivery station, browse available restaurants and place the order while tracking it live.
Travellers can place food orders from four-days before travel up to 30 minutes before train arrival at the selected station, the companies said in a release here.
Swiggy will also offer an ‘assured delivery or full refund’ guarantee for all food-on-train orders.
Commenting on the collaboration, ixigo Trains and ConfirmTkt COO Sripad Vaidya said the partnership aims to simplify and enhance the train travel experience by ensuring timely and hygienic meal delivery with greater choice and reliability.
Swiggy Vice President Deepak Maloo said the partnership will help bring Swiggy’s trusted restaurant network to millions of railway passengers, noting that India’s railways carry over 18 million reserved long-distance passengers daily.
