Italy Beat Austria 3–0 in FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Qualifiers

Hyderabad, Mar 9 (TNT): Italy men’s national field hockey team registered a comfortable 3–0 win over Austria men’s national field hockey team in a Pool A match of the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Qualifiers held in Hyderabad, Telangana on Monday.

Italy dominated the contest and converted their chances effectively to seal the match, keeping Austria scoreless in the fifth match of the qualifiers played at 12:45 pm.

The match was inaugurated by CH Priyanka, IAS, Special Commissioner, Information and Public Relations.

Officials present on the occasion included S V S Gupta, President of Hockey Karnataka; Manoj Bhore, Vice President of Hockey Maharashtra and Member of the Hockey India Executive Board; and Gurpreet Kaur, Member of the Hockey India Executive Board.

They were accompanied by R K Srivastava, Director General of Hockey India.

With the victory, Italy strengthened its position in Pool A of the qualifiers as the tournament continues in Hyderabad.
