New Delhi, Mar 23 (TNT): InterGlobe Aviation, which operates IndiGo, on Monday appointed aviation veteran Aloke Singh as Chief Strategy Officer, signalling a sharpened focus on long-term growth, operational efficiency, and global expansion.
The appointment, approved by the company’s Board, comes at a time when IndiGo is scaling up its international ambitions and strengthening its competitive positioning in an evolving aviation market.
In his new role, Singh will lead strategic planning and enterprise-wide transformation initiatives aimed at accelerating growth, enhancing operational efficiency, and improving customer experience, the airlines said in a release here.
He will work closely with the leadership team on cross-functional priorities to drive sustainable shareholder value.
Singh brings over three decades of experience in the aviation sector across strategy, operations, and commercial functions.
Most recently, he served as Managing Director and CEO of Air India Express, where he led operational improvements and expansion initiatives.
Welcoming the appointment, IndiGo Managing Director Rahul Bhatia said Singh’s strategic vision and operational expertise would be critical in building a more agile and future-ready organisation as the airline enters its next phase of growth.
Industry observers view the move as part of IndiGo’s broader strategy to transition from a dominant domestic carrier to a stronger global player, leveraging its scale, cost leadership, and expanding international network.
Commenting on his new role, Singh said IndiGo is at a pivotal stage in its journey, having reshaped India’s domestic aviation market and now aiming to expand its global footprint.
IndiGo, India’s largest airline, operates a fleet of over 400 aircraft and runs more than 2,200 daily flights connecting over 95 domestic and 40 international destinations.
The airline carried around 124 million passengers in calendar year 2025 and continues to rank among the fastest-growing carriers globally.
