Hyderabad, Mar 12 (TNT): Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) on Thursday announced the signing of a new hotel under its Gateway Hotels & Resorts brand in Somajiguda, taking the Gateway portfolio to 50 hotels as the hospitality major accelerates expansion in key urban markets.
The upcoming 225-key Gateway Somajiguda, Hyderabad will be developed as a conversion project, the company said in a statement, marking the brand’s entry into Hyderabad, the company said in a release here.
Leah Tata, Vice President & Brand Leader, Gateway Hotels & Resorts, IHCL, said the brand’s strategy focuses on positioning properties as a “Gateway to a Destination” by integrating local culture and experiences.
She said the brand has been expanding rapidly, tapping demand from both business and leisure travellers across metro cities, state capitals and emerging commercial hubs.
The hotel will feature all-day dining and specialty restaurants, a bar and lounge, along with recreational facilities including a gym, health club, swimming pool and treatment rooms.
It will also offer extensive event and conference infrastructure, with 11 banquet halls, including a large hall of around 10,000 sq ft, supported by multiple meeting rooms to cater to corporate events and social functions.
Project partners D. Siva Rama Raju and DVS. Soma Raju said the collaboration aims to bring a refreshed hospitality offering to the Somajiguda area.
With the addition of the Hyderabad property, IHCL will have eight hotels in Telangana, including three under development, further strengthening its footprint in the state’s hospitality market.
