Hyderabad Police Launch H-FAST to Curb Food Adulteration

Hyderabad, Mar 19 (TNT): The Hyderabad Police on Thursday launched the Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST) to strengthen enforcement against food adulteration and ensure public safety.
The unit, established under the leadership of Commissioner of Police V.C. Sajjanar in coordination with Food Safety Officers, was inaugurated by IPS officer Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath.
H-FAST comprises 28 personnel, including Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors and support staff, and will focus on surveillance, detection and prosecution of offences related to unsafe food practices.
Officials said the team will conduct raids in coordination with Food Safety Officers to ensure effective enforcement through seamless collaboration.
A toll-free number (8712661212) has been set up for the public to report cases of food adulteration and unsafe food practices.
Complaints can also be shared through the official social media platforms of H-FAST.
The police officials said a zero-tolerance approach will be adopted, with stringent legal action against offenders, and urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
