HYDERABAD, Feb. 19(TNT): Hyderabad District Collector Harichandana Dasari, will attend as chief guest at the grand finale of “Creators of Tomorrow – Buildathon 2026,” an innovation platform for civil engineering students organised by Radha TMT.
The finale will be held on Feb. 21 at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad, marking the culmination of a statewide competition that drew participation from more than 30 engineering colleges across Telangana.
Billed as a first-of-its-kind civil engineering innovation platform in the state, the initiative is aimed at encouraging students to develop practical and scalable solutions for modern infrastructure challenges.
The competition is centred on the theme “Green & Sustainable Construction for a Greener Future.”
Organisers said civil engineering plays a foundational role in national development, underpinning infrastructure such as roads, bridges, dams, buildings and water systems that support trade, public health and economic growth. The Buildathon was conceptualised to inspire students to align academic knowledge with real-world industry requirements.
The multi-stage selection process began with 90-second idea pitches at the college level, followed by online technical presentations by shortlisted teams.
Entries were evaluated by industry experts on parameters including technical soundness, innovation, scalability and practical relevance. Seven finalist teams have been selected to present working models at the grand finale.
The event will feature live project presentations, keynote addresses, interactive knowledge sessions, cultural performances and an awards ceremony.
Organisers said the competition carries cash prizes worth more than ₹5 lakh, along with internship opportunities, industry-recognised certifications, factory visits, ISO training exposure and interactions with construction professionals.
Radha TMT said the initiative reflects its commitment to promoting sustainable construction practices, strengthening industry–academia collaboration and supporting the development of future-ready civil engineers.
