Hyderabad, Mar 9 (TNT): Heritage Foods Limited celebrated International Women’s Day on Sunday by recognising women farmers and women-run milk procurement centres across nine states.
The company organised events at 189 chilling centres across nine states — Maharashtra, Telangana,
Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Rajasthan, honouring women Heritage Procurement Representatives.
An interaction with around 500 women dairy farmers was also held at Nandigama near Shadnagar, Telangana.
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director Bhuvaneshwari Nara highlighted the key role of women in the company’s supply chain.
Of the company’s 4,600 Heritage Procurement Centres (HPCs), over 2,000 are run by women, while about 45% of the company’s three lakh farmer partners are women, she added.
