
Hyderabad, Feb 23 (TNT ): A first-year B.Arch. student from GITAM Deemed to be University has won three gold medals in Pickleball at the recently held 2nd Edition of the Telangana Chief Minister’s Cup 2025–26.
Ashritha Raju clinched gold medals in Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles categories at the state-level finals held on February 20–21 at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium here, the University said in a release here on Monday.
The tournament, organised by the Sports Authority of Telangana, was conducted from January 8 to February 26, 2026, featuring multiple disciplines including Handball, Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Billiards, Fencing, Lawn Tennis and Pickleball.
Officials said the competitions followed a multi-tier format beginning at the Gram Panchayat level, followed by Mandal and Urban Local Body rounds, and culminating in the state-level finals in Hyderabad.
University leadership, including Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. D.S. Rao and Director–Hospitality & Campus Life Ambika Philip, congratulated the student on her achievement and commended her dedication and sporting excellence.
The university stated that the accomplishment reflects its emphasis on promoting sportsmanship and holistic development alongside academic excellence.
