Hyderabad, Mar 11 (TNT): The Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) on Wednesday said it has entered into a strategic partnership with NAL Academy Limited, formerly known as NSE Academy Limited of the National Stock Exchange of India, to expand risk and finance education in India.
The collaboration aims to build a future-ready risk and finance ecosystem by expanding access to practitioner-led and industry-relevant education in areas such as financial risk management, artificial intelligence risk, cybersecurity and financial analytics, addressing the widening skills gap across India’s BFSI sector, the Association said in a release.
As part of the partnership, the institutions will develop a joint programme combining GARP’s Risk and AI (RAI) Certificate with NAL Academy’s Cybersecurity Bootcamp.
The initiative will help learners gain practical skills to address AI model risks, cyber threats and other non-financial risks increasingly faced by banks, financial institutions and corporates.
The programme will cater to early-career professionals, senior risk and finance leaders, technology and cybersecurity practitioners, as well as university students aspiring to work in global financial markets and risk management.
It will be delivered through blended, virtual and self-paced learning formats.
Rich Apostolik, President and CEO of GARP, said the collaboration supports upskilling in AI risk and governance as organisations increasingly face non-financial threats such as cybersecurity breaches and generative AI risks.
Abhilash Misra, Managing Director and CEO of NAL Academy Limited, said the partnership would combine global risk management expertise with India-specific market practices to develop a workforce capable of addressing evolving challenges in the BFSI sector.
