Four held in drug bust near JNTU Metro in Hyderabad; ganja, MDMA, LSD seized

Hyderabad, Mar 30 (TNT): KPHB Police have busted a narcotics racket near JNTU Metro Station in Kukatpally in the city and arrested four persons including an IT employee, seizing ganja, MDMA and LSD from their possession, police said here on Monday.

Acting on specific information, a police team led by Sub-Inspector M. Mallesham conducted a late-night raid near Ratnadeep Super Market and the accused were intercepted while allegedly engaging in suspicious activity near a scooter.

Seized 150 grams of ganja, 4 grams of MDMA and nine LSD blot papers were recovered from the accused.

Five mobile phones and the vehicle used in the offence were also seized.

 The arrested persons were identified as 27-year old IT employee Bendi Sai Bhanu Prakash,  Saripalli Anoop Kumar alias Pandu (27), Shobith Alenmani (25) and Ripunjay Jodha (29), all residents of different parts of the city.

During interrogation, the prime accused allegedly confessed that the contraband was being procured from Bengaluru through a supplier and sold in Hyderabad at higher prices.

The drugs were reportedly delivered through courier services, while payments were made via digital platforms.

Police said another associate is suspected to be involved in the network and efforts are on to trace other members of the supply chain.

A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
