Eminent Economist Arvind Subramanian Meets Telangana CM Reddy; Discusses State Economy**

Hyderabad, Mar 16 (TNT): Eminent economist Arvind Subramanian on Monday met Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at the Chief Minister’s chamber in the Assembly and discussed key economic issues concerning the state.

Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister for Revenue,Housing and I and PR  Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao and other senior officials were present during the meeting.

The meeting assumes significance as the state budget is scheduled to be presented in the Assembly on March 20.

Discussions focused on the power sector, the Stamps and Registration Department and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system.

Issues such as cost structures in the power sector, model valuation in stamps and registrations, and tax assessment under GST were also reportedly reviewed during the meeting.

Subramanian offered several suggestions to improve the state’s financial position and advised the government to adopt a planned approach to strengthen Telangana’s economic growth.
