Hyderabad, Mar 23 (TNT): EKA Mobility, a leading electric vehicle and technology company,in consortium with GreenCell Mobility, on Monday said it has secured a Letter of Award (LOA) for the supply and deployment of 915 electric buses in Hyderabad under the Government of India’s PM E-DRIVE initiative.
The project, being implemented through Convergence Energy Services Ltd (CESL), will include the rollout of 100 nine-metre and 815 twelve-metre standard-floor non-AC electric buses to cater to diverse urban transit needs.
In a release, the companies said the buses are fully electric and zero-emission, aimed at providing efficient, reliable and passenger-friendly public transport while reducing urban pollution.
The award follows earlier contracts secured by EKA Mobility under CESL’s PM E-Bus Seva programme for deployment of electric buses across Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Puducherry and Meghalaya.
Rohit Srivastava, Business Head and Chief Growth Officer of EKA Mobility, said the LOA underscores the company’s execution capabilities and commitment to supporting cleaner urban mobility.
He added that the project aligns with national efforts to accelerate electric vehicle adoption and modernise city transport systems.
The PM E-DRIVE scheme is a flagship Government of India initiative focused on boosting EV adoption, strengthening domestic manufacturing and cutting emissions in urban centres.
