Hyderabad, Mar 21 (TNT): Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour across Telangana on Saturday, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Special prayers were offered at Eidgahs and mosques across the State, with thousands of devotees participating in congregations from early morning.
The largest gathering was witnessed at the Mir Alam Eidgah, where nearly two lakh people offered prayers. Large congregations were also seen at Mecca Masjid, Hockey Grounds in Masab Tank and other mosques across the city.
Mohammad Azharuddin offered Eid prayers at Banjara Hills, while Asaduddin Owaisi was among those present at the Mir Alam Eidgah.
Prayers were led by religious leaders, including Khateeb of Mecca Masjid, Maulana Hafiz Mufti Rizwan Qureshi, who prayed for peace and prosperity.
The city, especially areas around Charminar, witnessed festive activity, with markets bustling and people exchanging greetings and sweets.
Police and local authorities made elaborate arrangements, including traffic diversions near major prayer venues, to ensure peaceful celebrations.
