Economic Reforms Must Reflect Constitutional Values, Says TCHE Chairman

Hyderabad, Apr 10 (TNT): Telangana Council for Higher Education (TCHE) Chairman V. Balakista Reddy on Friday said economic reforms must be aligned with constitutional principles to ensure inclusive and equitable societal progress.

Addressing the valedictory session of a two-day national seminar on “Economic Reforms and the Indian Constitution: Conflict, Contradictions, and Ways Forward,” organised by the Department of Economics of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University in collaboration with Government Degree College, Chanchalguda, he said reforms are an essential part of societal advancement and institutions have a vital role in driving them.

He aid ignorance of laws and the Constitution hampers effective reform implementation and stressed that policies should be updated in accordance with constitutional values.

He also noted that wars and conflicts have historically disrupted economic development across the world.

Emphasising the role of higher education, he said the sector must become more inclusive and curriculum reforms should encourage multidisciplinary learning and the integration of technology to prepare students for a modern and equitable society.

The seminar was organised as part of “Social Empowerment Week” and concluded on Friday.
