Puttaparthi (Andhra Pradesh), Mar 27 (TNT): The sacred festival of Sri Rama Navami was celebrated with great spiritual fervour at Prasanthi Nilayam, marked by the grand and celestial wedding of Lord Sri Rama and Mother Sita, performed with deep devotion in the divine presence sanctified by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
Held at the Sai Kulwant Hall, the Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam unfolded amidst the resonant chanting of Vedic hymns, devotional music, and the spiritually charged presence of thousands of devotees who had gathered from across the country and abroad.
This age-old tradition, upheld during Bhagawan’s physical presence and continued with the same sanctity, symbolises the divine union of dharma and purity.
The sacred proceedings included rituals such as Ganapati Puja, Navagraha Puja, and the auspicious Mangalyadharana, performed strictly in accordance with scriptural injunctions.
A remarkable highlight of this year’s celebrations was the collective expression of devotion through bakshanam samarpanam, wherein over 300 varieties of sacred food offerings were lovingly prepared and offered by devotees from the states of Telangana and Karnataka.
Equally moving was the preparation of the talambralu (sacred rice), an integral part of the celestial wedding ritual.
Devotees from across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka participated in this sacred seva with deep reverence, painstakingly removing the husk manually and preparing the rice with utmost purity and devotion.
The beautifully adorned idols of Lord Sri Rama and Mother Sita, draped in exquisite silk garments and ornaments, radiated divine grace as the sacred wedding rituals were performed, filling the atmosphere with devotion, joy, and spiritual bliss.
RJ Rathnakar, Managing Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Ms. Himavahni Rathnakar, Trustees and thousands of devotees participated in the celestial wedding with utmost devotion and spiritual fervour.
