Tirupati, Mar 4 (TNT): Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will strengthen devotee-centric medical services in Tirumala and Tiruchanur, TTD Joint Executive Officer (Medical & Education) Dr A. Sarat said on Wednesday.
After inspecting the TTD Free Hospital at Thollappa Garden in Tiruchanur and the First Aid Centre at Alipiri Padala Mandapam, Dr Sarat directed officials to provide comprehensive and confidence-inspiring medical care to devotees, particularly in cases of sudden illness during darshan.
He said TTD is currently extending emergency medical services through seven First Aid Centres and five dispensaries. He instructed that services at the Tiruchanur hospital be aligned with temple timings and that five to ten beds be kept ready for devotees.
Noting that 100 to 150 outpatients are availing services daily at Tiruchanur, he emphasised the need to expand quality free medical care.
Even minor emergency assistance can instil confidence among patients, he observed, urging staff to provide both effective treatment and moral support.
Reviewing the Alipiri First Aid Centre, Dr Sarat said manpower is being provided by Global Hospitals Group while medicines are supplied by TTD.
He directed officials to maintain adequate stocks of essential medicines, especially for devotees trekking to Tirumala, and ensure prompt medical attention in emergencies.
TTD Chief Medical Officer Dr Kusuma Kumari and other officials were present.
