Hyderabad, Mar 29 (TNT): Telangana Minister for Information & Public Relations, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy expressed confidence that the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) will come to power with a clear majority in the upcoming Assembly elections in Kerala, scheduled for the 9th of next month.
As part of the election campaign in Kerala, Ponguleti campaigned on Sunday in the Pathanamthitta district, particularly in the Adoor Assembly constituency, in support of UDF MLA candidate Santhakumar from the Congress party.
Speaking on the occasion, he stated that there is a visible shift in public opinion in favour of the Congress alliance, which has been in the opposition for the past ten years.
He said the UDF’s success in the recent local body elections is clear evidence of this trend.
The Minister alleged that the Left Democratic Front government, which has been in power for the last decade, has completely neglected public welfare.
He criticised that while there has been extensive publicity in the name of development, the actual benefits delivered to the people have been minimal.
“If unemployment continues to rise and the financial burden on people increases even after ten years of governance, is that not proof of the government’s failure?” he questioned.
He also strongly criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that it is attempting to divide people across the country through religious politics and lacks a clear development agenda in Kerala.
He stated that the people of Kerala would reject any attempts to undermine their secular values.
The Minister emphasised that between the failures of the CPI(M)-led government and the divisive politics of the BJP, the Congress remains the only credible alternative for the people of Kerala.
He expressed confidence that the Congress party alone has the strength to uphold democracy, social justice, and secular values, and that the people will deliver a clear verdict in favour of the UDF in the upcoming elections.
