Congress-BRS War of Words Intensifies as Telangana Min. Ponguleti Counters Corruption Charges

Hyderabad, Apr 8 (TNT): Political tensions between the ruling Indian National Congress and opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) escalated on Wednesday with Telangana Ministerfor Revenue and I and PR , Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy launching a strong counterattack against BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), senior leader K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) and MLA T. Harish Rao* over allegations of corruption and land irregularities.

Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat here, Ponguleti accused the BRS leadership of making politically motivated and baseless allegations against the Congress government and its ministers in an attempt to divert public attention from alleged irregularities during the previous regime.

He challenged the BRS leaders to substantiate any allegations against him and said he would publicly apologise if any wrongdoing on his part was proved.

Referring to the Nadargul land controversy, the Minister maintained that all registrations, mutations and developmental activities on the disputed land took place during the BRS tenure between 2014 and 2023 and alleged that the opposition was attempting to falsely implicate the present government.

He said the Congress government had already filed its counter in court asserting the land as government property and was pursuing the matter legally.

On the Vattinagulapally land dispute, **Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy** said it was a private family matter with no connection to the government, and alleged that the BRS was politicising the issue for narrow political gains.

Rejecting allegations relating to illegal mining and crusher operations at Kotwalguda, the Minister denied any links between his family and the business concerned and said documentary evidence was available to establish the facts.

Accusing the BRS of corruption during its decade-long rule, he alleged that several irregularities relating to land and mining would surface through ongoing investigations.

Asserting that the Congress government led by Chief Minister **Revanth Reddy** was committed to transparent governance, the Minister said action would continue against corruption without political bias.

Several Congress leaders, including Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Seethakka, along with MPs and MLAs, attended the press conference.
