CJI Surya Kant offers prayers at Tirumala temple

Tirumala (Andhra Pradesh), Mar 1 (TNT): The Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant, offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara Swamy at the world-renowned Tirumala temple on Sunday morning.

Justice Kant had made his maiden visit to the temple town on Saturday evening, shortly after assuming office as the Chief Justice of India (CJI).

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) priests and officials, led by TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu, Executive Officer M. Ravi Chandra, and Additional Executive Officer C.H. Venkayya Chowdary, extended a traditional welcome to the CJI on his arrival at the Mahadwaram of the main temple complex.
After being led inside the sanctum sanctorum, the Chief Justice and his family worshipped Lord Venkateswara Swamy for a brief period.
Following the darshan, he was offered Vedasirvachanam, temple prasadams, and a photo memento of Lord Venkateswara Swamy by TTD officials at Ranganayakula Mandapam within the temple complex.
Later, Justice Surya Kant proceeded to Tirupati, where he participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new Tirupati District Court Complex at Daminedu village in Tirupati Rural.
The event will be attended by senior judicial officers and district officials.
