Sri City (Tirupati Dt. Andhra Pradesh), Feb 17 (TNT): In a significant boost to Andhra Pradesh’s industrial growth, Carrier Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Ltd. on Tuesday signed a lease deed with Sri City to set up a new manufacturing facility, strengthening its production capacity in India’s fast-growing HVAC market.
The company, part of US-based Carrier Global Corporation, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, aims to tap rising domestic demand for sustainable and energy-efficient commercial cooling systems.
The lease deed was signed by Mr. Sundaresan Narayanan, Managing Director, Carrier India, and Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City, in the presence of district officials.
Mr. Sundaresan Narayanan said that the new facility will meet rising demand for sustainable and energy-efficient commercial cooling solutions while creating meaningful opportunities for local talent. The plant will integrate green manufacturing practices, generate significant employment and enable Carrier to manufacture at scale to support its market growth.
Presiding over the ceremony, District Collector Tirupati, Dr. S. Venkateswar, said the State Government is committed to ensuring ease and speed of doing business, adding that Sri City has emerged as a key hub for HVAC and advanced manufacturing.
Carrier’s decision follows high-level engagements with Andhra Pradesh IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh, during which the company expressed its intent to expand operations in the State.
The upcoming facility will complement Carrier’s existing manufacturing unit in Haryana and is part of its long-term growth strategy in India, one of its key emerging markets.
