Amaravati, Mar 29 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday said committed and sincere party workers would be given opportunities as public representatives, stressing that cadre remains central to the party’s strength.
Addressing the 44th foundation day celebrations held at the party’s central office under the slogan “Cadre is the Leader”, Naidu said leaders must stay connected with workers and the public, warning that those who distance themselves from cadre would be sidelined.
He said upcoming political developments, including possible delimitation and 33 per cent reservation for women, would create new opportunities for dedicated party workers.
Emphasising discipline and public service, Naidu urged members to uphold the party’s image through their conduct and to actively engage with people’s issues.
“If the party is strong, the state will be strong,” he said.
The Chief Minister recalled the party’s journey marked by both successes and challenges, paying tribute to workers who made sacrifices over the years.
He also referred to political struggles and his imprisonment during 2019–24, attributing the party’s resurgence to the commitment of its cadre.
Highlighting governance initiatives, he cited enhanced social pensions, implementation of “Super Six” schemes, job creation efforts, and industrial investments.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to avoid power tariff hikes and complete major projects, including Polavaram and development of Amaravati.
Naidu also cautioned leaders against neglecting party workers and called for effectively countering misinformation by communicating government achievements to the public.
Earlier, Naidu hoisted the party flag in the presence of Nara Lokesh, state party president Palla Srinivas and senior leaders. Floral tributes were paid to party founder N. T. Rama Rao.
Later, Naidu and Lokesh hosted a lunch for senior party workers from nearly 60 constituencies and interacted with them, presenting new clothes as a mark of appreciation for their service.
