BRS rites to Telangana CM, seeks Budget allocations for Six Guarantees

Hyderabad, Feb 19 (TNT):  Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working President K T Rama Rao (KTR), on Thursday  written an open letter to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, urging the Congress government to make adequate allocations in the 2026–27 State Budget for the implementation of the “Six Guarantees” promised during the 2023 Assembly elections.

In the letter, KTR said nearly half of the Congress government’s tenure had elapsed and alleged that about 95% of its election promises remain unfulfilled. He said the government must make concrete budgetary provisions to implement the guarantees, warning that public patience was “wearing thin.”

The BRS leader criticised the ruling party for, he alleged, failing to implement the Six Guarantees despite presenting two budgets.

He called for substantial allocations for schemes benefiting women, the elderly, students, youth and farmers.

KTR also sought dedicated budgetary support for backward classes, scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and minorities, in line with commitments made in Congress declarations.

He urged the government to clear pending dues to various beneficiary groups.

Among specific demands listed in the letter were enhancement of pensions for the elderly and widows to ₹4,000 per month, allocation of funds for the Mahalakshmi scheme providing ₹2,500 per month to women, increasing Rythu Bandhu assistance to ₹15,000 and clearing arrears to farmers, implementation of unemployment benefits along with a job calendar, and financial assistance to auto drivers and other vulnerable sections.

He alleged that beneficiaries had not received payments under several schemes despite assurances and questioned reports that the upcoming budget may not sufficiently fund the guarantees.

KTR warned that if the 2026–27 Budget fails to provide adequate allocations for the Six Guarantees and other manifesto commitments, the BRS would hold the government accountable “at every level” on behalf of the people of Telangana.
