Hyderabad, Feb 19 (TNT): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana unit President N.Ramhander Rao, on Thursday said Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was not merely a Maratha warrior but “the pride of all Indians,” and urged citizens to follow his principles of governance and patriotism.
Speaking at the party’s state office here during celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Shivaji Maharaj, said admiration for Shivaji was not confined to any religion or caste, describing him as a ruler known for administrative efficiency and public welfare reforms.
Rao added that Shivaji’s resistance against Mughal emperor Aurangzeb reflected his commitment to protecting the nation’s honour.
The BJP leader called on Indians to emulate Shivaji Maharaj’s administrative ideals, adherence to dharma and spirit of patriotism.
The event was attended by Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind, BJP Telangana office-bearers and party workers.
