BJP committed to Tribal Welfare: Ramchander Rao

Hyderabad, Feb 15 ( TNT):  BJP State President N Ramchander Rao on Sunday stated that the life of Sadguru Sant Sevalal Maharaj closely reflected the core ideologies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Participating at the birth anniversary celebrations of Sant Sevalal Maharaj, organized at the BJP State Headquarters under the leadership of BJP State ST Morcha President Ravi Nayak here, Rao said that along with striving to liberate the nation from foreign dominance, Sant Sevalal Maharaj dedicated his entire life to the protection of nature and the environment.

Describing him as the revered deity of the Banjara community, Rao noted that Maharaj is regarded as a divine figure who worked tirelessly for environmental protection and social upliftment.

A devoted follower of Jagadamba Mata, Sant Sevalal Maharaj’s teachings continue to guide present and future generations, Rao said.

He added that this is why tribal communities across the country celebrate his birth anniversary with great devotion and enthusiasm.

Highlighting the initiatives of the Narendra Modi government for tribal welfare, Rao said several historic decisions had been taken, including the establishment of a Tribal Commission and a dedicated Ministry for Tribal Affairs.

He also mentioned the setting up of the Samakka-Sarakka Tribal University in Mulugu to promote higher education in tribal areas, construction of the Sevalal Maharaj temple in Maharashtra, and the allocation of record funds for tribal welfare.

Criticizing the previous BRS government and the ruling Congress government in Telangana, Rao alleged that both had neglected the development of Thandas (tribal hamlets).

Though Thandas were declared as Gram Panchayats, he said, adequate funds were not released and welfare schemes were not properly implemented.

He asserted that much of the current development in tribal regions is possible due to the Central Government’s ITDA funds.

Reaffirming the party’s commitment, Rao stated that the BJP would always stand by tribal communities in safeguarding their rights and ensuring their development. On behalf of the party, he extended heartfelt greetings to the people of the state, especially members of the Banjara and other tribal communities.

The event was attended by BJP State Vice President Kalyan Nayak, State Organizational General Secretary Chandrashekhar Tiwari, State General Secretary Vemula Ashok, and several senior leaders.
