BJP alleges political conspiracy, seeks impartial Probe into FSL Fire in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Feb 8 (TNT) : Alleging that the fire incident in Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in the city may be part of a larger political conspiracy to destroy crucial evidence, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday demanded an independent and impartial inquiry into the incident.

State BJP President N. Ramchander Rao, who was campaigning in Bhadradri Kothagudem for the upcoming municipal and corporation elections, told the media that the fire at the FSL in Nampally cannot be brushed aside as a routine accident.

He said serious doubts have arisen as vital digital evidence, including hard disks, pen drives, DNA reports, voice samples and other forensic material linked to several sensational cases, were stored at the facility.

Rao alleged that suspicions are growing that the fire was deliberately orchestrated to derail the ongoing phone tapping investigation.

He accused the Indian National Congress government of deliberately delaying the probe, stating that even after two years, no real culprits have been brought to book, which has fueled public distrust.

Referring to the alleged phone tapping during the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regime, the BJP leader claimed that phones of BJP leaders were tapped and attempts were made to foist false cases against the party’s state and national leadership.

Alleging a tacit understanding between Congress and BRS, Rao accused both parties of shielding each other to cover up governance failures and corruption, while indulging in baseless criticism of the BJP.

Expressing confidence ahead of the civic polls, the state BJP chief said the political atmosphere across Telangana is strongly in favour of the BJP and asserted that the party is set to secure a majority of seats in the municipal and corporation elections.
