Amaravati, Feb 9 (TNT): Bird flu (Avian Influenza) has resurfaced in Andhra Pradesh, triggering concern among authorities after large-scale poultry deaths were reported.
As many as 28,000 chickens have died due to bird flu in poultry farms located in parts of Chittoor district and Annamayya district, particularly in Sadum mandal.
Following laboratory confirmation of the virus, the authorities have declared a high alert in the affected districts.
The government has set up control rooms to monitor the situation round the clock and ensure quick response.
Special veterinary teams have been deployed to the affected areas to contain the spread of the disease, carry out surveillance, and implement biosecurity measures at poultry farms.
Officials have advised poultry farmers and the public to remain cautious and strictly follow preventive guidelines to avoid further spread of the infection.
