Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), Feb 16 (TNT): Bill Gates, Chairman of the Gates Foundation, along with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, visited an agricultural field in Undavalli near here on Monday.
During the visit, Bill Gates examined natural farming produce and was briefed by officials on the use of advanced technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, being adopted in the state’s agriculture sector.
He personally observed how drones are being deployed in the fields to control pests and improve crop protection.
Gates also interacted directly with farmers, holding a face-to-face discussion to understand their experiences and challenges.
Earlier on their arrival at the farm, the Chief Minister and Bill Gates were welcomed by women farmers, who greeted them warmly.
As part of the visit, Bill Gates tasted traditional local dishes prepared by the women farmers, appreciating the region’s agricultural produce and culinary heritage.
