Hyderabad, Mar 22 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday said the state government will give priority to the Arya Vysya community in nominations and other posts, while recognising its role in economic development.
Addressing the Vasavi Mahashakthi Mahotsavam organised by the Telangana Arya Vysya Corporation here, Reddy said the community has already been given political importance with allocation of one Mayor post and six Municipal Chairperson posts in the recent municipal elections.
The Chief Minister assured that the government would provide a rightful place to the community and consider its views in policy-making.
He said the Arya Vysya community should play a key role in the reconstruction and economic development of Telangana.
The CM praised the community for its discipline and contribution to nation-building, noting that it has continued to contribute despite limited opportunities.
He said former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K. Rosaiah was among his favourite leaders and noted that the state government had installed his statue at Lakdikapool to honour his legacy.
The Chief Minister also recalled the role of Mahatma Gandhi in India’s freedom struggle, highlighting his path of non-violence and mass movements in securing independence.
He also commended T. G. Venkatesh for his contributions to politics in the Rayalaseema region.
