AP: Ontimitta Reverberates with ‘Rama Nama’ During Garuda Seva

Vontimitta (Kadapa Dist, AP), Apr 1 (TNT): Devotional fervour marked the Garuda Seva held on Tuesday night as part of the annual Brahmotsavams at the Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Vontimitta, with chants of “Rama Nama” reverberating throughout the temple town.

Lord Sri Sita Rama Lakshmana blessed devotees while mounted on the Garuda Vahanam during the fifth-day celebrations.

The Vahana Seva commenced at 7:00 PM and was conducted in a grand and spiritually charged atmosphere.

The procession moved majestically through the temple streets, accompanied by traditional mangala vadyams, Kerala drums, bhajan groups, chekka bhajans and kolatam performances. Devotees offered camphor harati at various points and had darshan of the Lord with deep devotion.

Garuda, also known as Vainateya, is regarded as the divine vehicle of Lord Maha Vishnu and one of the foremost among the Nitya Suris.

In Vaishnavite tradition, Garuda is revered for rendering multiple सेवas to the Lord, symbolising devotion and service.

The Garuda Seva is considered one of the most significant events in Brahmotsavams, especially across the 108 Divya Desams.

Deputy Executive Officers Prasanthi and Sivaprasad, Temple Inspector Naveen, and other officials were present.
