AP Energy Minister Urges Fast-Track Execution of Renewable Energy Projects

Amaravati, Mar 24 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar on Tuesday called for expediting the implementation of renewable energy projects across the state, directing investors and officials to ensure timely completion and commissioning.

Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat with representatives of Brookfield-Axis and officials of NREDCAP, the Minister reviewed the progress of projects at various stages of execution.

He stressed the need to accelerate on-ground work and asked stakeholders to promptly flag any issues for immediate resolution.

He also directed officials to proactively remove bottlenecks and facilitate a smooth implementation process.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Ravi Kumar assured full support to investors, including assistance in land availability, infrastructure and statutory clearances.

The Minister said the state is pursuing an Integrated Clean Energy Policy in line with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s vision to attract large-scale investments and generate employment opportunities.

He noted that solar, wind and pumped storage projects in the Rayalaseema region are expected to set national benchmarks and expressed confidence that Andhra Pradesh would emerge as a leader in renewable energy generation.

He also reiterated the government’s goal of positioning the state as India’s “Battery Storage Capital”.

Highlighting employment potential, the Minister said the expansion of renewable energy projects would create significant job opportunities for local youth.

He added that review meetings will be held every 15 days to monitor progress and ensure timely execution of projects.

Senior officials from the Energy Department and representatives of renewable energy companies attended the meeting.
