AP Dy CM Pawan Kalyan Launches Ramateertham Giripradakshina Road Ahead of Sri Rama Navami in Vizamangaram Dist

Vizianagaram (Andhra Pradesh), Mar 25 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday virtually inaugurated the Giripradakshina road at the famous Ramateertham temple comes under Nellimarla Assembly Constituency,  in Vizianagaram district, reaffirming the coalition government’s commitment to temple development and protection of Hindu traditions.

The 3.7-km road, constructed at a cost of ₹3.40 crore under the MGNREGS scheme, connects Seetharamuni Peta junction to Neelachalam hill, significantly easing access for devotees undertaking the sacred circumambulation.

 Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Kalyan said Ramateertham is one of the prominent pilgrimage sites in India with historical links to the Ramayana and Mahabharata eras.

He noted that thousands of devotees perform Giripradakshina, especially during festivals such as Vaikuntha Ekadashi and Maha Shivaratri, with the belief of attaining spiritual merit.

He stated that earlier, the pathway was filled with stones and thorny bushes, causing hardship to pilgrims.

Acting on requests from devotees and local representatives, the government took up the project and completed it ahead of Sri Rama Navami, he aid.

Referring to past incidents, Pawan Kalyan said the desecration of the idol at Ramateertham during the previous government’s tenure had deeply hurt the sentiments of devotees.

He expressed satisfaction that the current development works would restore the sanctity and improve facilities for pilgrims.

Reiterating the government’s stance, he said the coalition remains committed to safeguarding temple heritage, culture, and traditions.

Ministers Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Vangalapudi Anitha, Kondapalli Srinivas, MP Kalisetti Appalanaidu, and MLAs Lokam Madhavi and Pusapati Aditi Vijayalakshmi were present at the event.
