Kakinada, Feb 14 (TNT): The Peddapuram sub division police have successfully busted a three member criminal gang and recovered from them 51 motor cycles stolen under the jurisdiction of 15 police stations.
Giving out the details of the recovery to the media persons on Saturday , District SP Garikipati Bindu Madhav said that the modus operandi of the three criminals was lifting the motorcycle parked in front of public places like parks, bus stations using the duplicate keys.
Interestingly all the three accused are from Somesweram village of Rayavaram mandal, East Godavari district.
Of these three accused – Dasari Durga Prasad (33) was wanted in 41 cases while Saakha Prasad in five cases.The third accused Nallamilli Doraswamireddy , however, not figured in any other cases, the SP said.
The SP said that the value of the 51 motor cycles recovered was estimated at over Rs.24.33 lakhs.
The SP has complimented Peddapuram DSP Srihariraju, Prathipadu circle inspector B Surya Apparao and Annavaram police station staff especially the Head constable SV Ramana, constables M Nageswerarao, N Sreenu and Home Guards K Nageswerarao, P Achyutharam and P Sathibabu for major recovery of stolen motorcycles and nabbing the criminal gang.
