AP: Coromandel develops `safe Green way’ with Rs.1.35 Cr CSR funds in Kakinada

Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh), Jan 30 (TNT): Coromandel International Limited has shown the way to other industries by developing the rugged and Cachha 1.3 kms stretch Valasapakala road  as a ` safe Green way spending  Rs.1.35 Cr under its corporate social responsibility.

Coromandel International Limited has developed a 1.3-km stretch of the Valasapakala–Beach Road into a safe and eco-friendly green corridor by investing ₹1.35 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The road, earlier in a dilapidated condition and prone to frequent traffic congestion and safety hazards, has been widened and modernised to ensure smooth and safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians.

Addressing after inaugurating the revamped stretch road here on Friday, Kakinada Rural MLA Pantham Nanaji, appreciated Coromandel International for its commitment to public welfare and said the project stands as a model for corporate participation in infrastructure development and environmental protection.

Named ‘Haritha Margam’, the green way features extensive plantation of saplings on both sides of the road, improved street lighting and structural upgrades to ensure round-the-clock safety for commuters.

Senior officials of Coromandel International, including Jnana Sundaram, Senior Vice President& Head Manufacturing; K. Jagannadham, Senior AVP and Unit Head; Jayagopal Chatur, CSR Head; P. Padmanabham, Senior GM–HR; Vamsikrishna, AGM; and Varanasi Ravikumar, Public Relations Officer, were present at the inauguration.
