AP CM Thanks PM, HM, Parties for Backing Amaravati Capital Bill

Nellore (AP), April 1 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and leaders of various political parties for supporting the Bill in Parliament granting legal status to Amaravati as the State capital.

Addressing a public meeting at Vinjamuru in Nellore district, Naidu said the passage of the Bill has removed uncertainty over the capital’s future and described Amaravati as a symbol of the self-respect of the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Reiterating that Amaravati will remain the sole capital, he asserted that no one can shift it “even an inch.”

The Chief Minister criticised the previous government’s three-capital proposal, alleging it had created confusion and hindered development.

Highlighting welfare initiatives, he said the State is implementing various schemes and remains committed to development and public welfare.
