AP CM Bats for PPP Model, Inclusive Growth at ISB AI Summit in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, March 22 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday underscored the success of public-private partnership (PPP) models and called for leveraging artificial intelligence for inclusive development.

Addressing at the Indian School of Business South Asia Learning Summit 2026 on “Transforming AI” here, Naidu highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s experience, said the Jegurupadu power project executed under PPP returned to government ownership after 30 years, describing the model as a “successful and sustainable formula”.

He noted that major infrastructure initiatives such as the Golden Quadrilateral and airport development across India have demonstrated the effectiveness of PPPs in driving growth and wealth creation.

Referring to efforts to support tribal communities, he said the Naandi Foundation was set up to market Araku coffee, adding that industrialist Anand Mahindra is now promoting the brand globally.

The Chief Minister said the P4 initiative has been introduced to support the poorest sections, stressing that targeted assistance is key to improving their social and economic status.

He emphasised that giving back to society should go beyond financial donations, calling for sustained support to uplift vulnerable groups.

Raising demographic concerns, he said ageing populations are increasing globally and India could face similar challenges after 2047. He called for steps to improve fertility rates, particularly in southern states.

He added that a population management system with incentives is being considered to address future demographic imbalances.
