AP Cabinet Approves Mining Leases for Vaddera Societies, Fulfilling Lokesh’s Yuvagalam Promise

Amaravati, Mar 26(TNT): The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Thursday approved the allocation of mining leases to Vaddera societies, fulfilling a key assurance made during the Yuvagalam padayatra by minister Nara Lokesh.

During the Yuvagalam march, members of the Vaddera community had urged Lokesh to provide mining leases on government hill poramboke lands to enable them to pursue their traditional occupation and earn a livelihood. Acting on this promise, the minister recently placed the proposal before the State Cabinet, which has now given its approval.

The decision aims to improve the socio-economic conditions of the Vaddera community by granting mining leases to their cooperative societies.

The government is expected to issue a detailed Government Order (GO) shortly, outlining the modalities for implementation.

Lokesh, who undertook extensive interactions with various communities during the Yuvagalam padayatra, has been taking steps to fulfil the assurances given to different sections of society.

The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to addressing the aspirations of diverse social groups, while moving away from what it described as “vote-bank politics” of the previous regime.
