Puttaparthi(Andhra Pradesh), Mar 29 (TNT): Advanced medical equipment was commissioned at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences in Prasanthigram here on Sunday, strengthening critical care and surgical services at the facility.
The equipment was inaugurated by RJ Rathnakar, Managing Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, in the presence of Puneet Kumar, Zonal Manager of LIC’s South Central Zone and senior officials.
Speaking on the occasion, Rathnakar said the initiative marked another step in the hospital’s adoption of advanced medical technology while continuing to provide treatment free of cost, in line with the vision of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
The newly installed equipment includes six Servo-C ventilators and three FX8 electrosurgical units, with a total value of about ₹1 crore. The ventilators are expected to enhance life-support capabilities, while the electrosurgical units will improve precision in surgeries.
The initiative was supported by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) Golden Jubilee Foundation under its corporate social responsibility (CRS)programme.
LIC representatives appreciated the hospital’s infrastructure and its model of providing high-quality treatment free of cost to all sections of society.
The programme underscored the institution’s commitment to accessible and compassionate healthcare, reaffirming the principle that quality medical care should be available to all.
