AP CM directs officials to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply

Amaravati, Aug 3 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed officials to ensure there is no shortage of drinking water in any part of the state and asked them to closely monitor rainfall and reservoir levels to maintain uninterrupted supply.

Reviewing the performance of various departments at the Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) in the Secretariat, the Chief Minister instructed officials to focus on reservoir water availability and preparedness measures.

Officials informed him that rainfall in the upper catchment areas was expected to improve water availability in the Krishna and Godavari river basins and briefed him on the flood situation in the Godavari River.

Naidu directed officials to make optimum use of inflows into the Krishna basin from upstream rainfall and instructed the departments concerned to ensure adequate fodder availability by maintaining sufficient reserves to meet livestock requirements throughout the year.

Reviewing the functioning of the Transport Department, officials briefed the Chief Minister on reforms aimed at increasing the use of technology and eliminating unnecessary regulations to improve transparency and reduce corruption.

The Chief Minister directed officials to simplify procedures by removing unnecessary conditions to make the Transport Department more citizen-friendly and improve service delivery.

Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad and senior officials attended the review meeting.
