Tri-Services Future Warfare Course begins in New Delhi
New Delhi, Aug 3 (TNT): The fourth edition of the Tri-Services Future Warfare Course commenced at the Manekshaw Centre here on Monday, with Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General N.S. Raja Subramani underlining the need for the Armed Forces to prepare for the evolving character of warfare driven by emerging technologies.
Delivering the keynote address at the inaugural session, the CDS highlighted the growing influence of artificial intelligence, cyber capabilities, autonomous systems, information warfare, space technologies and data-driven decision-making in shaping future conflicts.
He stressed the importance of anticipating emerging security challenges and developing the capability to respond effectively across multiple operational domains.
General Raja Subramani also emphasised greater jointness and integration among the Armed Forces, and called for closer collaboration with industry, academia and the research community to strengthen India’s defence preparedness.
Organised by the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS), the four-week course brings together officers from the Army, Navy and Air Force, along with representatives from government, industry, academia and strategic institutions.
Participants will deliberate on a range of subjects, including geopolitics, emerging technologies, cognitive and cyber warfare, multi-domain operations, scenario building and technology-enabled warfare.
